FTR

Endoscopic Full Thickness Resection (EFTR or FTR), using an endoscopic full thickness resection device (FTRD), is the latest in powerful endoscopic diagnostic tools. A/Prof Pavey utilises FTR as it enables comprehensive tissue extraction and improved sampling. It also has the potential to spare surgical therapy in selected patients, as it can enable endoscopic (internal) resection and closure of a gastrointestinal lesion involving deep or all layers of the GI tract.
